ABOUT US

Six core services

GOLD’s work focuses on six core capacity building service delivery areas to ensure quality peer education rollout.

These include Stakeholder Management, where GOLD engages, identifies, assesses and selects viable community based organisations as implementing partners on the ground as well as collaborating with strategic and regional GOLD Programme Stakeholders.

Research and Development involves the research, documentation and development of peer education good practice implementation methods and customisable GOLD peer education materials, curricula and multi-media products.

GOLD also provides interactive and technical Training and Support of community organisations, teachers, community leaders and other programme stakeholders in order to build their capacity to implement quality and effective GOLD aligned peer education programmes.

Quality Assurance is ensured by providing customisable programme implementation logical frameworks in alignment to the GOLD model and conducting the monitoring and evaluation of their implementation on the ground through an online peer education management system (PEMS).

Resource Mobilisation is another focus, with GOLD identifying, gathering and coordinating a wide range of local, national and international resources that support community organisations in each community of practice to implement sustainable peer education programmes. Within this service GOLD provides sub-grants to its partners to support them in their implementation on the ground.

Advocacy and Programme Visibility involves facilitating activities and campaigns that a) Raise awareness of national and provincial GOLD aligned peer education and b) Support implementing organizations to enhance the visibility and credibility of their peer education programmes within their communities and c) Advocate for change to benefit under-served communities at a local, national and international level.
